WINE SHOULD BE TASTY THIS YEAR

With cooler, wetter weather, this summer has been more typical for area vineyards, but Finger Lakes area winemakers aren’t ready to pop the cork in celebration just yet.
Wineries are looking for a bigger yield than last year and hopefully good quality products.
A warm early spring followed by a late spring frost did in much of the 2012 grape crop, as it did with many other fruit, and that was followed by a very dry summer that left many grapes withering on the vine.
This year, the quantity should be up for most varieties according to growers.
