INMATE GETS MORE YEARS PILED ON HIS SENTENCE AFTER DNA FINGERS HIM

A western Pennsylvania man who was already serving a sentence of 90 to 180 years in prison for the rapes of three juveniles has been sentenced to decades more in prison following his conviction in another rape almost a quarter-century ago.
According to The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, a judge in Allegheny County ordered 43-year-old Michael Lipinski to serve another 20 to 40 years consecutive to his earlier term. The new charges were brought after detectives in the cold case unit requested that the DNA from a 1989 case be run against the FBI’s national database. The DNA was matched to Lipinski, who was convicted in 2010 of three separate attacks between 1998 and 2005 on victims aged 3, 9 and 17.
