A Centre County mental health counselor, who worked with inmates and others in the court system, has been arrested for making false police reports to hide an affair with a client.
On Thursday, Centre County administrators said they are discontinuing all relations with Actions Counseling Service which is co-owned by Cindy Brumbaugh.
It was Brumbaugh who counseled court ordered clients in a Batterers’ Intervention Program.
State Police have now charged Brumbaugh with making false reports after she told them a client sexually assaulted her. Court documents however, show the client responded with e-mails she sent him showing they were having an ongoing relationship.
It all came to the surface after the two were in a car wreck, and Brumbaugh’s husband found out.
County administrators are now looking for another service to provide counseling services.
